A genetic marker is discovered that regulates brain recovery and functional prognosis in stroke patients

Genetic information determines better or worse brain recovery following intracerebral haemorrhage.

Researchers of the Institute of  Functional Biology & Genomics (IBFG, a joint centre of the CSIC and the University of Salamanca) also pertaining to the Institute of Biomedical Research of Salamanca (IBSAL), have discovered that genetic information determines whether brain recovery is better or worse after suffering a stroke. This study by the Molecular Neurobiology Group, directed by Ángeles Almeida, has been published in the journal Cell Death and Differentiation of the Nature Publication Group.
