Call for proposals MIT-Spain Inditex Fund and Call for Proposals MIT-Spain Fund La Caixa Foundation – Research Groups

Inditex and Fundación La Caixa are independently carrying out, through the MIT-Spain Fund, an initiative that promotes collaboration between professors and students of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and their counterparts in universities and research institutions in Spain.

In both cases an annual call is made for the selection of the best proposals and the travel expenses occasioned by the exchanges of the teams are financed mainly, with a maximum of $30,000 per project. We detail below the lines of research requested in each of the calls:

• MIT-Spain Inditex Fund

The MIT-Spain Inditex Fund provides funding for proposals from research groups focused on initiatives to recycle or process fibers from used garments or surplus fabrics from manufacturing processes, with the aim of creating new high quality fibers that can be used again in the textile industry to produce new fabrics.

• MIT-Spain Fund La Caixa Foundation

On the other hand, MIT-Spain La Caixa Foundation is a program that grants funding for proposals of research groups focused on the following areas:

• Health: cancer, AIDS-HIV, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, global and planetary health

• Energy: new sources of energy and renewable energy

• Global economy: economy, science and technology as tools to combat social inequality
