“First Lego League” – A great experience for young prospective researchers

The University of Salamanca and the Science Park organized the First Classifying Tournament of the FIRST LEGO LEAGUE OF Salamanca (FLL Salamanca), which was held last weekend in Hospedería Fonseca.

Twenty-two teams participated in this first edition of FLL Salamanca: 18 FLL teams with 10 participants per team, aged between 10 and 16, and 4 FLL Junior teams, with participants aged between 6 and 9. The Tournament signifies important support for this project and showcases the efforts of young people to build a better world.

FIRST LEGO League is an international programme that fosters vocations in science and technology among young people between 10 and 16 based on different learning experiences, inspiring more than 250,000 young people in 88 countries around the world.

Its objective is to promote innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship through diverse learning experiences aimed at awakening young people’s interest in science and  technology.

FIRST LEGO League has now become consolidated in our country thanks to a commitment on the part of universities, technological parks and organizations promoting innovation that organize the programme for the whole country, and to the efforts of 2,500 volunteers, the enthusiasm of the 1,600 participating teams, the accompanying families, trainers and schools as well as to the support of organizations and companies that have joined the initiative to offer the best opportunities to the future generations of entrepreneurs, engineers and scientists in our country.
