International Seminar on the “Labor impact of business networks”

The seminar will be held in Salamanca on 9 – 10 November and will be led by Professors Wilfredo Sanguineti Raymond and Juan Bautista Vivero Serrano.

The University Master’s Degree in Labor Law and Labor Relations of the University of Salamanca is organizing the international seminar “Labor Impact of Business Networks”. Given that  productive activities are increasingly being carried out  in a coordinated way among several businesses in the modern economy, the seminar aims to take stock of the repercussions of this on employment and working conditions. In order to do so, it will start by identifying the different forms of collaboration capable of giving rise to a business network and assessing the potential impact of each of them on five fundamental thematic areas, such as those related to: a) employer identification, b ) the start, duration, modification and termination of employment contracts, c) working conditions, d) occupational safety and health, and e) the exercise of the rights to organize, collective bargain and strike. A plural methodological approach will be taken in which legal analysis will be enriched by the consideration of the economic rationality of these phenomena. All this in order to evaluate the suitability of the responses that have emerged in order to face the challenges posed by this new way of organizing business activities and to formulate proposals that allow them to be addressed in a coherent and systematic way.

The seminar will be led by Professors Wilfredo Sanguineti Raymond and Juan Bautista Vivero Serrano and will be held on 9 and 10 November 2017.
