Salamanca and Oporto collaborate on a Doctorate in Computer Engineering

Last Friday the University of Salamanca and the Polytechnic Institute of Oporto signed an agreement to collaborate on a Doctorate program in Computer Engineering.

Before signing the agreement, we met with Daniel Hernandez Ruipérez, Rector of the University of Salamanca, and Maria Rosário Gambôa Lopes de Carvalho, Rector of the Polytechnic Institute of Oporto, as well as Carlos Fernando Da Silva Ramos, Vice Rector of Research, Innovation and Internationalization from the Polytechnic Institute, and MarÍa Moreno GarcÍa, Program Coordinator for the Doctorate in Computer Engineering at the University of Salamanca.

The collaboration between both institutions will allow Portuguese students to pursue a Doctorate in the Computer Engineering program at the University of Salamanca, while professors and researchers will sit on the committee for doctoral theses and other program activities.

The Doctorate in Computer Engineering comprises a significant number of foreign students at 30%. The majority of the candidates who finish the program choose professional opportunities in the field of academic research or with technology-related companies.
