The CIALE and companies of the Science Park are leading the “Symbiosis” project for the improvement of the agricultural sector of Spain and Portugal

The program seeks to apply achieve the effective application of technological and social innovation to agricultural and livestock farms in the region.

The Hispano-Luso Institute of Agrarian Research of the University of Salamanca (CIALE) (Instituto Hispano-Luso de Investigaciones Agrarias de la Universidad de Salamanca (CIALE) and the companies Iter Investigación and Quantum Servicios Energéticos, of the Science Park are promoting the “Symbiosis” project, aimed at improving the competitiveness of the agricultural and livestock sector of Spain and Portugal and the social and economic development of the whole territory.

Present at the meeting with the media to present this project, held this morning, were Juan Manuel Corchado, Vice-Chancellor of Research and Transfer of the University of Salamanca; José Sánchez Sánchez, Director of the CIALE; and Juan Carlos Hernández García and Javier Sánchez, directors of the Science Park companies Iter Investigación and Quantum Energy Services, respectively.

The “Symbiosis” project was approved in the first call of the Cross-Border Cooperation Program INTERREG V-A Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2014-2020 (Programa de Cooperación Transfronteriza INTERREG V-A España – Portugal) and is structured around two pillars of work. On the one hand, it pursues the effective application of science and technology available to the farms of our region, and, on the other hand, the creation of a system of demonstration, training and dynamization of the sector based on social innovation that allows the transfer of technological solutions to farmers and ranchers.
