The Science Park Organizes the “First Lego League”

The University of Salamanca will celebrate the first annual First Lego League, organized by the Science Park, on 25 February in the Hospedería Fonseca Building.

First Lego League is an international programme which promotes scientific vocations and technologies amongst young people aged between 10 and 16 years old through different learning activities and which is held in 88 different countries across the world. In Spain, more than 12,000 young people work in teams in order to design, construct and programme a robot, as well as developing a scientific project to solve a specific problem which they identify. These teams present their proposed solutions in the corresponding qualifying tournament. Specifically in the FLL Salamanca, 22 teams will participate: 18 teams in the FLL category (10-16 years) and 4 teams in the FLL Junior category (6-9 years). A total of 220 young people will present their scientific projects, participate in the Robot Game challenge and show how it’s done (FIRST LEGO League values). The most important thing is that everything they discover and learn, they do through practical experience. Because of this, FIRST LEGO League is much more than robots!
