The Vice-Chancellor of Research and Knowledge Transfer inaugurates the Fifth National Ganymede Congress in the Faculty of Philology (Language & Literature).

The Vice-Chancellor of Research and Knowledge Transfer of the University of Salamanca, Juan Manuel Corchado, inaugurated in the Faculty of Philology (Language & Literature) the Fifth National Ganymede Congress organized by the Association of New Researchers in Classical Philology of the same name and held between 21 and 24 March.

The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by Carlos Sánchez Pérez, president of the Ganymede Association; Mª Paz de Hoz, president of the Salamanca section of the Spanish Society of Classical Studies (SEEC); Anastasio Kanaris, Deputy Dean of Students of the Faculty of Philology; Adelaida Andrés, Director of the Department of Classical and Indo-European Philology, and Sandra Cruz, President of the Organizing Committee of the Fifth Ganymede Congress.

The Ganymede Association was formed to bring together all students in a predoctoral situation whose lines of work are included in the field of Classical Philology. This association, and by extension its congress, has been constituted as a forum for the exchange, promotion and dissemination of the works and research carried out by its members in the field of Greek, Latin and Indo-European Linguistics, Greek and Latin Literature, the textual criticism of Greco-Latin texts, the classical tradition and Humanism.
