USAL increases the visibility of its research activity thanks to the Observatory of Bibliometrics and Scientific Information

Juan Manuel Corchado, Vice-Chancellor for Research and Transfer, and José Antonio Cordón, Professor of Bibliography, presented the new unit in USAL’s Administration Building (Rectorado).

The Vice-Chancellor for Research and Transfer, Juan Manuel Corchado, today presented the Observatory of Bibliometrics and Scientific Information (OBIC) with the purpose of increasing the visibility of the research developed at the University, as well as providing support to improve research performance and favor the training of research staff in how to manage their scientific production.

The OBIC of the University of Salamanca was created to perform two main functions: to make the work of its researchers more transparent and visible, and also to provide better knowledge of research activities to the university community and to society in general.
