New mechanism identified that slows down the formation of cancer in blood cells

The Center for Networked Biomedical Research in Cancer (CIBERONC) (Spain), through the research group led by Xosé R. Bustelo, also belonging to the Cancer Research Center of Salamanca, has just discovered that the VAV1 gene, usually involved in the formation of a wide range of tumors, can also play roles involved in the suppression of some specific types of acute lymphoblastic leukemia of T lymphocytes.

USAL studies the Deception Island volcano to design a predictive model of the activity of these geological structures

Antonio M. Álvarez Valero is travelling  to Antarctica in the 2017-2018 campaign of the international project POSVOLDEC to determine the key magmatic factors under the active volcano of the island and improve our knowledge of the volcanic eruptions all over the planet.

Cattle Workshop on the Castro Enríquez farm

The Castro Enriquez farm, pertaining to the Provincial Council of Salamanca, hosted a cattle workshop last September 29. At this workshop, we professionals and agents met to share our knowledge about the world of cattle: Provincial Council, University, IRNASA, ITACyL, FNyH , industries, farmers and local action groups.

Call for EACB awards for young researchers

The new EACB awards (European Association of Cooperative Banks) competition is aimed at young people up to 35 years old. This association is putting out a call for the Young Researchers in Cooperative Banking Award to promote the business model of these organizations. The contest is aimed at young people up to 35 years old (i.e. born in 1982 or later).
